There's Always a bridge to cross in this town...

Scott Nolan is an acclaimed Folk/Roots songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, poet, and visual artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty One territory.  Releasing 7 albums since 2005, Scott will release a new album this December. 

He is known for his spellbinding, intimate performances and engaging, often humourous, between song patter.  He is adept at performative and instructional songwriting workshops.

Hayes Carll, Mary Gauthier, Watermelon Slim, Corin Raymond, and many others have recorded his songs. He has co-written with Hayes, Mary, William Prince, among others.  He is perhaps best known for the song ‘Bad Liver and a Broken Heart’ - a hit for Hayes Carll and a very popular request for Scott.  He has performed/toured with Hayes, Mary, James McMurtry, Fred Eaglesmith, William Prince, and many others.

In the past decade or so, he focused on producing albums for such notables as: William Prince, Lynne Hanson, Watermelon Slim, Stephen Fearing, Corin Raymond, and many others.

Scott recently turned his attention back to live performances.  He also began a 'project' with fellow Roots singer-songwriter-guitarist, Joe Nolan called Nolan+Nolan. Their tour across the Prairies in the Fall of 2023 was a critical success.  The final show of the tour was a Songwriters Circle that included Scott Cook.
